Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world
Nelson Mandela
The workplace is an ever changing place. As we live with the constant threat of unpredictable events, we have adapted the way we think and the way we work. We are all operating with a greater degree of flexibility and this is ultimately what I am able to offer to you.
My expertise lies in Healthcare and the Medical Industry. Whether you are looking to deliver a specific project or educational event, I can offer my services. My background within healthcare is predominantly across the orthopaedic sector and I have experience of working with all level of Healthcare Professional. I have experience of working both within the UK as well as on a global level and would embrace the opportunity to help you to deliver your commitments on time and within budget.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Born and raised in the North East of England, I am truly at home in Northumberland. Having travelled and worked around the world, I also possess global awareness which I believe demonstrates a capacity for greater inclusivity, diversity and innovation and more creative problem solving, planning and strategy development.
I am Mel. I am a daughter and a wife. I am a mother. I am a GB triathlete.
Professionally I am a Project and Education Manager across the healthcare sector and I am excited about the prospect of working with you.
I started my working life in healthcare as a Pharmaceutical Medical Representative for AstraZeneca in 2006, moving across to Medical Devices and Orthopaedics in 2010. I had the great fortune to work for Synthes, a company that has since been integrated into Johnson & Johnson and was proudly known as the market leader across the divisions of Trauma, Spine, Craniomaxillofacial and Vet. Not only did my experience at Synthes deepen my knowledge of orthopaedics, it facilitated a relocation to Switzerland in 2014 to fulfil a Project Management role in product development with the AO Foundation; a medically guided, not-for-profit organisation specialising in the surgical treatment of trauma and musculoskeletal disorders.
Since 2014 I have worked closely with world renowned surgeons on a variety of projects. Following an employment transition to Johnson & Johnson in 2018, I have been heavily involved in Medical Education from both a Curriculum Development and Event Management perspective. I have a broad knowledge and experience within orthopaedics specifically, but a deep understanding of healthcare and the needs of project and education delivery generally.
I returned to the UK in 2022 and am based in Northumberland. I am open to new and flexible opportunities and encourage you to get in touch if you think I could meet your current needs.
Thank you
